Special shout outs to everyone that came out to support the YAK TrYAKs VIDEO PREMIERE PARTY last night!! There's nothing like hearing a new trYAK and seeing the visuals of a video to match it in that type of atmosphere!! #salute

Did you pay the tax to get them early? Are you shooting for a midnight release? Are you taking off work or skipping class to get in line? Are you camping out for them?

2011 New Box Concord XI (2000) vs. Concord XI (2011)
It's obviously not the first time this shoe is being retroed, but each time, the hype of it's release always causes mass hysteria WORLD WIDE!!
To me, The Jordan Concord XI is the G.O.A.T. (Greatest of All Time), so it's basically a MUST COP!! Regardless of whatever extreme measures you have to go through to get them, with any great cop, I'm sure you'll have a story to tell afterwards.
It took me a while for me to actually accept the round toe box and the "blue" tint in the sole of the 2011 version - I'm much more of an OG cat, so I actually dig the yellow-aged tinting - but the packaging and sleekness of this model simply legitimize the shoe as one of the most iconic sneakers ever produced... so again, plain and simply, it's the G.O.A.T.!!!
From my Twitter and Facebook posts, some may have noticed that I was on a semi-hiatus from DJing for a few weeks. Unfortunately, the logic-board on my laptop burnt out, so I was out of commision for a second. Nevertheless, during that time, I had the opportunity to shoot a few videos and add some YAK Sauce to a few trYAKs!!

Now I'm back like YAK, and the date 12.22.2011 just seems to have a YAK written all over it! So on Thursday, December 22nd, THANK GOD FOR DJs, LLC presents: "YAK TrYAKs" Video Premiere Party!! The event will feature the much anticipated video releases of "YAK Out Ya League" & "YAK I'ma Boss".
So not only one, but TWO new videos will be unleashed! I'll also be on the wheels, DJing and shouting out all the YAK TrYAKs Artists that have been involved with any of the YAK TrYAKs projects in an effort to create unity amongst North Carolina Hip Hop Artistry.
The event is FREE to the public (with ID) and we'll be recording footage for a another video to come, so of course you, your mama, and the entire YAK Nation is invited to come out and make a cameo appearance like YAK!!!
Please feel free to bring canned foods and/or make donations to Thank God For DJs, LLC. Contributions will be made to Samaritans Feet to provide shoes to those in need.

The YAK TrYAKs mixtape series is my personal effort to highlight North Carolina Hip Hop Artistry by remixing industry trYAKs with a "YAK" theme. YAK TrYAKs also encourages unity amongst artists by introducing various collaborations using "radio-friendly" lyrics. #Salute... people that rock with me may have noticed that I only have two poses in most pictures... ONE: a left handed, closed fist with index-finger and middle finger extended, Peace sign!! Or TWO: the infamous right handed, downward-opened-palm at the browline, SALUTE like YAK!
Well, one day, a fan of YAK TrYAKs Volume 1.11.11 mixtape basically told me, "you should do a YAK TrYAK to T.I.'s 'Salute' since you're always saluting!" So I listened to the record and instantly had an idea about how to incorporate it with the YAK TrYAKs Volume 2.22 mixtape. It didn't even involve remixing the song into a YAK TrYAK, but instead, I was going to utilize the hook and instrumental in an interlude for some CIAA commercials and party advertising... hahaha, SMH like YAK!
I had it all planned out... so when I went to record the interlude, there were three other YAK TrYAKs artist in the studio who overheard the beat and changed my entire plans for the song! They basically pushed me out of the booth and unleashed an onslaught of dope lyrics over the beat!! Their enthusiasm created a #YAKclassic moment where literally, within an hour, we had recorded a freestyle cypher that you now know as "YAK Salute"!!!
Since all of the artists for this trYAK were/are UNC Charlotte students, it was only right to link up with AMIL "the Illest" again and shoot the video on campus, like YAK!
